Rights Australia relies on the financial contributions of its supporters. Current and planned work includes:

• commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
• participation of Australian NGO representatives in 2009 when the UN Human Rights Committee discusses Australia's report on its observance of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
• encouraging widespread community involvement in the forthcoming Federal Government consultation on better protection of human rights.
